Minute to Win It

sign us up!
the boyfriend and i have become big fans of this new show on NBC, Minute to Win it..
if you haven't watched, its definitely worth your time.
i mean who doesn't want to watch people completing ridiculous tasks in one minute to win money--hence the name?
anyways, one task that we saw on tonight's show was assembling thirty-six red cups into a pyramid and un-staking them in under a minute.
considering the massive amount of red cups (that never get any use) in derek's apartment this enticed us to try it ourselves.
its harder than it looks to accomplish this in the short amount of time..
however, derek was able to master it with 2 seconds to spare
(big surprise there)
meanwhile, i found it to be a little difficult in the height department,
considering i can hardly reach the top cup.
but all in all it was a fun time
i definitely recommend trying it
if you have nothing else to do on sunday nights :)

Frozen Four Here We Come!

Before Friday, I never would have imagined that RIT would be headed off to Detroit as one of the final four hockey teams in our country.. But that's exactly what has occurred.

In Friday's game, RIT was matched up against the #2 team in the country, Denver. Considering RIT is ranked 15th out of 16 teams, this seemed to be quite an unlikely win. However, RIT proved everyone wrong, pulling out a 2-1 victory over Denver, advancing to play the #12 team UNH in a matchup where the winner would move onto the Frozen Four (the equivalent to the final four in march madness basketball). And sure enough, RIT demolished UNH 6-2!

Its pretty safe to say that no one expected this outcome, considering this was their very first appearance in the tournament, and the only team from the AHA to make it into the Frozen Four ever. RIT was able to beat NHL draft picks, without having any themselves. This underdog story has lead many people to question "Who are these guys?"

April 8th RIT will hit the ice once again, hoping to extend their winning streak to 13, then ultimately to 14, winning the D-1 National Championship.

I've never seen so much school spirit here at RIT as I do right now!
So proud of my school! Lets Go RIT!

Puppy Love

i miss this little guy
and wish that i could keep him forever
loveLOVElove

What were you doing at 1:30 this morning?

I'll tell you what I was doing at 1:30 am...

Wiping out while running downstairs to make sure our door was locked.
Barricading my bedroom door, with my roommate's mattress and box-spring.
Huddling in the corner with my two other roommates.
Calling RIT Campus Safety and 911.

Why you might ask?
Well shortly before this all took place, RIT sent out an emergency alert, with this message

R.I.T. Alert! Take Cover. Posssible Armed suicidal person on campus. Go into nearest room. Lock or barricade the door. Follow instructions from authorities.

For three girls, living alone in a piece of garbage of a house, this is a little bit terrifying.

Then rumors were swirling over FB and Twitter that there were 2 deaths, in the place in which we reside.

Even more terrifying.

These rumors were dismissed quickly by Campus Safety and 911.

Luckily, the suspect was taken into custody, a half hour after all this started, ending the alert.

However, it was not easy to fall asleep after this ordeal.

Thankfully, no one was injured.

And I'm praying this never happens again.

For more information regarding this crazyness

A FB group was created within 5 minutes of the alert going out.

A youtube video was uploaded of the suspect and a friend being taken into custody (with the help of a tazer) outside of where I lived last year.

And the latest update from ROCNOW on the details of last night's events.

I HAVE A MAJOR.... FINALLY!

As of Friday, March 12, I am no longer in the University Studies (aka undecided) college here at RIT!
I am now in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound) college!
After one long year of waiting to be accepted, the day finally came :)
Needless to say, I was ecstatic.
No longer will I be restricted when registering for all of my classes.
And now I can finally answer the "what is your major?" question with a solid answer.
Yayy me!
