shes my favorite.

ohh we're halfway there!

excuse the lame song reference in this post's title
but for real, i cleaned my room!
its almost done too,
just need hangers/more space/less stuff.
but i'm pretty proud of myself
(who knew there was a floor under there?!)
as derek would say
"there's so much more room.... for ACTIVITIES!"

but in all reality, if you don't understand this reference, you need to watch the entire movie.

fingerprints dont fade from the lives we touch

my great grandma, helen kurpiewski,
was one of the most amazing people i have ever known.
standing no more than 4'10, she always stood for what she believed in.
never afraid to put someone in their place- if need be
she was a women of strong faith,
walking across the street to go to church at Saint Hedwig every single day.
she took care of my great grandpa all day, every day after he suffered a stroke.
never once did she show contempt.
she was the rock of our family at the time of his passing.
when we all wanted to be there for her, she was the one there for us.
she made the absolute best pierogi,
none have ever been able to compare.
she loved her family-
giving more than could ever be returned.
she loved my polish boyfriend
even as her memory was fading,
she never failed to remember derek.
she always had a smile on her face.
a smile that was contagious.

goodbyes are never easy,
but i know that my great grandma is now in a better place.
and all the memories she has given me, will never fade away.

she will never be forgotten.
and will be loved always.

i am a better person because i knew you.

wolf pack invades the seawolves game

yave, yolly, yittany, and yerek..
tonight we all headed out to watch a seawolves game.
spending most of the time;
fearing being blindsided by a foul ball
trying to capture the picture perfect moment to send to the fellow wolf pack member yela
and derek, snagging a baseball from a teenage boy (who was not thrilled, to say the least)

all in all, it was a good time.

and now,
brainstorming the weekend's activities is in order.
'night blogger friends!

i'm forcing myself to tackle this beast during the weekdays while derek is at his big boy co-op at GE (whoop! whoop!)

Minute to Win It

sign us up!
the boyfriend and i have become big fans of this new show on NBC, Minute to Win it..
if you haven't watched, its definitely worth your time.
i mean who doesn't want to watch people completing ridiculous tasks in one minute to win money--hence the name?
anyways, one task that we saw on tonight's show was assembling thirty-six red cups into a pyramid and un-staking them in under a minute.
considering the massive amount of red cups (that never get any use) in derek's apartment this enticed us to try it ourselves.
its harder than it looks to accomplish this in the short amount of time..
however, derek was able to master it with 2 seconds to spare
(big surprise there)
meanwhile, i found it to be a little difficult in the height department,
considering i can hardly reach the top cup.
but all in all it was a fun time
i definitely recommend trying it
if you have nothing else to do on sunday nights :)
